Information for Graduating Students

PLEASE NOTE: Starting from final examination session in February 2017 the University of Macerata has launched a new on-line procedure to fill in the Application for Conferment of Qualification (Application for Final Examination) you may access clicking on 'Conferment of Qualification' in the on-line resources (http://studenti.unimc.it) available once you log in.

  • Be sure to return a copy of dissertation (even if not signed yet by Dissertation Tutor). Paper-back copy acceptable

Please be sure to return dissertation (not for undergraduate degree conferment) to the members of the Final Examination Board by sending the Abstract Form via e-mail and specifying in the SUBJECT slot: 'Dissertation Abstract'

Graduation day

Graduating students are to reach venue of final exam at the address and time shown on the website of the relevant department. Candidate order will be announced on the spot.

@ HOW TO FILL IN THE ONLINE APPLICATION FOR CONFERMENT OF          QUALIFICATION

Before starting procedure, prepare the following documents you need to enclose:

  1. Receipt acknowledging successful completion of the AlmaLaurea Questionnaire (PDF file, mandatory enclosure for all students). Information on how to answer the questionnaire may be found on the webpage Graduating Students.
  2. Scanned copy of (PDF file) Dissertation Approval Form.
  3. Scanned copy of (PDF file) Student Record Book (mandatory enclosure for all students). Scan front page of your Student Record Book containing your personal data and photograph, as well as pages showing passed examinations. Uploaded file size must not exceed 30 Megabytes. In that case, divide data in up to 6 files not exceeding 30 Mb each.

 

Once you have documents in electronic format, you may fill in the on-line application form clicking on 'Conferment of Qualification' from your personal page. There will be no need to submit application in paper format to the Student Administration Office.

After the on-line application deadline, data you have entered may still be amended but only until the Student Administration Office confirms application has been successful.

At the end of the procedure, two deposit slips by notice [= MAV] will be generated. One concerns cost of qualification in parchment (€ 71,38), while the other concerns the on-line stamp duty for conferment of qualification (€16,00). You may download the two deposit slips into the Payments Section of your log in area. You do not need to bring receipt of payments to the Student Administration Office.

Once graduating students' have been assessed, the Student Secretariat publishes the student's initial marks rated on maximum scale range of 110, and any additional marks awarded in the student's Dedicated Area. Initial marks are rounded up after the comma into two figures. The Final Examination Board may further round up the mark. Students may see their initial marks by logging onto the 'messages board'. For further queries and/or  details, please send an e-mail to ded.segreteria.studenti@unimc.it

N.B. Students who submit on-line application for conferment of qualification but fail to take final examination in the chosen session need to notify the Student Administration Office as soon as possible. In the next session, they must submit on-line their application again, yet they do not need to pay for qualification parchment again. They must contact the Student Administration Office to apply for the on-line stamp duty that is to be paid.

RULES AND REGULATIONS

MULTIMEDIA FACILITIES AND LOCATION

Students wishing to use multimedia equipment (usually for PowerPoint or PDF files) are to follow instructions below:

If final examination is in any of the following:

 

By 1 pm on Friday 07.04.2017 graduating students need to contact Stefano Properzi, either sending an e-mail to: stefano.properzi@unimc.it, or calling him on 0733.258.2728 or 0733.258.4418, in order to arrange to meet him and/or send him the file.

Next, the file will be loaded onto the PC students will find on such premises. The PC set up includes Win 7 and Microsoft Office 2010 (to help with the above steps, please consider these specifications when creating the file).

N.B. All graduating students who do not wish to meet deadlines and avail themselves of the above technical support may bring their own pen drive (USB stick) on the day of the final exam and personally load and start their multimedia work, taking on themselves the responsibility for any technical problem.

  • Aula F (Piazza Strambi 1), nell'Aula Magna e nell'Antica Biblioteca della Sede centrale (piaggia dell’Università 2) Graduating students have access to a PC connected to a video projector and amplified audio system. The PC operating system is Windows 7 Enterprise including a PDF file reader, PowerPoint 2010, and VLC media player.

Graduating students need to bring their multimedia (preferably their Pen drive - USB stick) on the day of the final exam and personally load and start the file when it is their turn to discuss their dissertation.

The constant and direct technical support of university staff may not be guaranteed.
