WORK PLACEMENTS AND INTERNSHIPS

Students of the Department of Economics and Law wishing to take part in work placements must follow the instructions below:

TYPES OF PLACEMENT

There are different types of work placements:

  • STANDARD (minimum 60 hours, 1.5 Credits)
  • TARGETED (minimum 240 hours, 6 Credits)
  • COMPULSORY (minimum 240 hours, 6 Credits)

In line with specific training programmes students may be required to carry out up to a maximum 576 hours of placement activity.

OPTIONAL AND COMPULSORY PLACEMENTS

Only students on Master's degree courses are necessarily involved in work placements (6 Credits).

Students on undergraduate degree course and Master's degree course may gain respectively 12 and 9 Credits through 'self-selected training activities suited to training programme'. Students may gain such Credits taking part in Standard Placements or (maximum 4 Credits for a total of 6 Credits) or Targeted Placements.

Employed students may replace work placements with a report on their current work.

ACADEMIC TUTOR

Before reaching agreement with the host organization, students need to choose a tutor among the academic staff of the Department of Economics and Law who will sign the training form, regardless of type of work placement.

HOW TO START

For the purpose of managing Internships/Work Placements, the Training and Placement Office (Ufficio Offerta Formativa e Stage) provides students with an online list of partner bodies/businesses, as well as a show case of work placement offers on part of bodies/businesses.

Internships/Work Placements become effective once an agreement is signed between the promoting body (the university institution) and the host organization (body/business), and a training programme is drawn up.

Further information and practical instructions on how to draw up the agreement and the training programme, on the appropriate forms, opening times of the relevant office, are available at http://adoss.unimc.it/en/stage where there is also a °Special Section° for students.
